We Were Wrong!
by David Hachmeister
We are not sure about that as a headline. It’s not like we have never made a mistake before. We thought April would be up for stamps. It ended with a small thud as stamp sales fell 5.42 percent. Small shop sales actually rose a bit, continuing their noticeable trend of more positive than negative months for almost a year. Overall, the Indicator has been down in each of those months.
Other product sales rose a slight 2.10 percent, the rate of increase declining for the past five months.
*Please note we have adjusted the March numbers as one of our participants had changes in their statistics.
